Rock Creek Park Hike: September 9th, 2022

This is the third week in a row that I went for a hike through Rock Creek Park. I spent roughly the same amount of time as I did for the other hikes, but I covered more distance. The hike I did is what I like to call the ‘Northern Loop.’ I start at the Whittier Trail, then head south on the Valley Trail until the Rolling Meadow Bridge. I cross the bridge spanning the creek, then head north along Beach Drive for a few hundred yards following Black Horse Trail until it splits away from Pinehurst Branch Trail. That trail skirts a smaller creek and continues on to Oregon Ave after intersecting with the Western Ridge Trail. After taking the Western Ridge Trail, I follow that path all the way to the Boundary Bridge where the Western Ridge ends and the Valley Trail begins. The Valley Trail takes me to the Pine Trail, which I follow all the way until I exit Rock Creek Park at 16th and Holly. The hike was just shy of 6 miles and took over 2.5 hours. The pictures I took were with my iPhone 13. I did bring my camera, but I chose not to use it this time around. And I have several videos I took for a later post.
