Sanlitun, Chaoyang District, Beijing, China: July 10th, 2023
It was another hot and sticky day as I made my way toward the vibrant Sanlitun shopping district near the heart of Beijing. We were there once before, on our first weekend, unsuccessfully trying to sort out a few things. My goal was to explore a bit more, which is a bit easier without the kids tagging along. The walk ended up being longer than I planned, but it was well worth it. The pictures are from my iPhone. There were some minor edits to most photographs, mainly cropping and scaling each to a 4:3 ratio.
Behind me is the Nike Store. We've all seen one, so I didn't take a picture.
Scooters are everywhere. So are their cousins the trike. And where there's a trike, there's always a dude in the back.
He has taken people watching to a whole new dimension.
Perspective is a matter of position. A simple step to the right and this scene changes. (See next pic).
A single step to the right and all the bikes disappear.
Scooters everywhere, all the time.

An overpass that reminded me of Philadelphia for some reason.

It's not Exiles, but it'll have to do.

Green means go.
When everything's a scooter, be a bicycle.
Light traffic near Chaoyang Park.
A scratch for an itch, but just barely.
Is this Miami or Beijing?
Would Christina Unkle call this my natural silhouette?
